After 4 years of only having interviews and all communication by telephone, J6 Pardoned Hostage, Barry Ramey sat down with me for the first time In Real Life. Barry was one of my first of many J6 interviews.
Ramey tells how his story is one of absolute egregious circumstances and shows how his rights have been violated in so many various ways. As horrific as his story is, it is not unique. A majority of J6ers have had similar situations happen to them. However, it is a story that needs to be heard and shared.
I originally was able to meet Barry in person at CPAC in February of this year. We sat down for an interview a few months later. Our first interview without a recording popping on reminding us that he is calling from a jail or prison or being limited to 15-minute calls.
Having Barry in real life on the other side of the Zoom was very special, and he showed up with a lot to talk about. Barry first shared with us how healing it was to be able to meet so many of the supporters and fellow J6ers when he was at CPAC. So many are going through struggles of assimilating back into the world that has grown so fast over the last four years.

Barry goes over the extent of how the FBI was involved in his case and how they violated his rights and participated in severe overreach. An FBI officer tried to contact and possibly entrap Barry. Although the FBI had already been notified, he had a lawyer they were to have contact with.
We talked extensively about prison reform. Making people aware of the “diesel therapy” that the prisons go through. The Gateway Pundit has run several articles on what “diesel therapy” is and how it is torture on many levels. Diesel Therapy refers to the practice of frequently transporting prisoners in vehicles, often for extended periods, while they are shackled and subjected to poor conditions from prison to prison. According to Sam Mangel, “The experience can be physically and mentally exhausting due to uncertainty over the destination, an inability to communicate with loved ones during the trip, and the disruptions it causes to an inmate’s routine, ability to participate in prison programs, and maintain contact with legal counsel.”
For many years the minority communities have been screaming about prison reform, and it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Was it because it hadn’t happened to anyone we knew? Why couldn’t we be bothered to listen?
I don’t think it is productive to linger on why we haven’t done anything to help. We all fell asleep at the wheel. Americans are waking up and are awake now. I think it is productive to realize that there are more voices behind the cause and what we can do to make a difference. The prison and jails are money laundering and human trafficking operations. We need absolute and total reform. If just one good thing could come from January 6th, I think it is that we have seen, and some have experienced the atrocities that happen in these prisons and how they have been operating without oversite forever.
Barry has had amazing support from his family and fiancé. He is assimilating after his release which will be coming up on a year in a couple months and 6 months since his pardon. There are still struggles and Barry is working through them as many of the J6ers are.
