CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday begged Ambassador Mike Waltz to asked President Trump to let CNN back in the pool for Air Force One.
On Saturday, CNN was blocked from boarding Air Force One as President Trump traveled to Tennessee.
The Gateway Pundit, Red State Media and Real America’s Voice traveled with President Trump and covered his attendance at the University of Tennessee vs University of Texas football game.
This comes following a legal showdown after President Trump banned CNN, Politico and MSNOW from the White House.
A federal judge ordered the White House restore White House access to CNN and the other outlets.
However, President Trump blocked CNN from the Air Force One press pool.
Jake Tapper begged Ambassador Waltz to help CNN get back in the game.
“I would ask if you could convey to President Trump to let CNN back in the pool. It was not okay when President Obama tried to freeze Fox out, and I don’t think we want a world where presidents get to decide who covers them,” Tapper said.
Mike Waltz brushed him off.
“I hear you, but I think we need fair, objective, and well-sourced reporting. I’ve been the victim of a lot of this nonsense,” Waltz said.
“President Trump specifically said that there’s something wrong with a country where people are allowed to report things that are purposely negative. That’s his language, not mine,” Tapper said.
