A TV correspondent for Al-Manar, a Lebanese TV station run by Hezbollah, was seen ducking for cover on Sunday when an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon hit nearby as he prepared to go on the air.
The now-viral footage of the close call, which injured reporter Ali Chbib and a cameraman in Lebanon’s Nabatieh al-Fawqa, shows him ducking for cover as the surrounding area lights up from the explosion.
This came as Israel launched strikes against “several Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites across southern Lebanon,” killing 12, on Sunday, September 6th. The reporters were wounded in the strike.
The Israeli Defense Forces, Israel’s military, reportedly said in a statement that they are “aware of reports that a journalist in the vicinity of the terrorist infrastructure was harmed during the strike.”
“The IDF does not target uninvolved individuals or journalists under any circumstances,” the statement continued.

Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Chbib and cameraman Mohammad Berjawi were wounded in the Israeli strike on the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
The Israeli military says, “the IDF is aware of reports that a journalist in the vicinity of the terrorist infrastructure was harmed during the strike. The IDF does not target uninvolved individuals or journalists under any circumstances.”
The IDF says its targets included what it described as Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and a command center inside a building previously used as a hospital.
Lebanon’s health ministry says 11 people, including two women, were killed in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon Sunday.
