Another week, another UFO-related story for us to laugh or worry about – and this is a big one.
Back in October 2017, the first object from outside the Solar System was discovered: the Oumuamua. The unusual shape, the lack of a comet trail, and the fact that it sped up as he left the galaxy left scientists puzzled and was fertile ground for all kinds of speculative theories, with Harvard’s Avi Loeb suggesting that Oumuamua might be an alien spacecraft.
Fast-forward to 2025, when another ‘mysterious intergalactic object’, named 3I/ATLAS, is cruising past Earth – and you will never guess what scientists are suggesting now.
Yes.
A controversial new scientific study alerts that 3I/ATLAS could potentially be a ‘hostile’ alien spacecraft coming to attack our planet in November.
The New York Post reported:
“’The consequences, should the hypothesis turn out to be correct, could potentially be dire for humanity’, the researchers wrote in the inflammatory paper, which was published July 16 to the preprint server arXiv, South West News Service reported.”
NEW: Hubble just captured 3I/ATLAS and it’s weirder than anyone expected!
It looks like a comet, it flies like a probe and it might not be natural at all.

Avi Loeb is back with his theories:
BREAKING NEWS
Dr. Avi Loeb, Director of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at Princeton University, told @DrBrianKeating, The recently discovered 20-km-wide (12-mile) interstellar object 3I/ATLAS should cause us to “be worried about it being technological” if it’s not… pic.twitter.com/jwkTg3WlP7

3I/ATLAS has just been discovered on July 1, speeding toward us at more than 130,000 mph, and it has been determined to be a intergalactical comet.
“However, in the new paper, the trio of researchers suggested that it might be a piece of extraterrestrial spy technology in disguise.
One of the researchers, Avi Loeb — a prominent Harvard astrophysicist known for linking extraterrestrial objects to alien life — previously made waves after floating the theory that 2017 interstellar object ʻOumuamua could be an artificial recon probe sent by an alien civilization, based on its odd shape and acceleration.”
We’ve now seen 3 interstellar objects passing through the solar system. Each is distinctly different.
Comet 3I/ATLAS is by far the biggest, fastest & oldest: probably older than our solar system, making it the most ancient object we’ve seen up close. https://t.co/ebHj1I0Imz pic.twitter.com/vFCkrg5FIX

Loeb believes that the 3I/ATLAS’s trajectory suggests an alien origin.
“The object’s speed — which was significantly faster than ʻOumuamua and other objects — and the fact that it entered our solar system from a different angle than its predecessors offer ‘various benefits to an extraterrestrial intelligence’, Loeb wrote in a blog post.
One benefit is that 3I/ATLAS will make close approaches to Jupiter, Mars and Venus, which could allow aliens to stealthily plant spy ‘gadgets’ there, Loeb wrote.”
