CHAOS IN COLORADO: Anti-ICE Student Walkout ERUPTS IN VIOLENCE — Counterprotester Kicked on Ground, Man Struck in Head with Metal Bottle, Three Hospitalized (VIDEO)

Schools let hundreds of kids walk out Friday to protest enforcing the law. What followed was a shouting match, flying water bottles, a metal bottle to the head, and total disorder at a Denver park.

A coordinated anti-ICE student walkout descended into violence Friday after hundreds of Colorado students abandoned their classrooms and gathered at La Alma-Lincoln Park in Denver.

What organizers promoted as a youth demonstration against President Trump’s immigration-enforcement agenda reportedly produced five assaults or altercations, sent three people to the hospital, and resulted in two graffiti citations.

According to Denver7 reporter Danielle Kreutter, a counterprotester recording the demonstration was knocked to the ground, kicked, and shoved after his camera was apparently knocked from his hand.

Another man carrying a pro-ICE sign was surrounded and chased by student demonstrators. Video showed a metal water bottle being thrown at the man’s head. The bottle struck him, and he fled with students still pursuing him.

Independent journalist @jorgeshottakis on X wrote:

Students throwing frozen water bottles and and physically attacking journalists on the ground. This was a riot.

I was also attacked by the mob about 10 minutes after this. I seem to have lost my A-cam footage of it and they stole my GoPro. If you have footage of my assault please send it to me. I saw multiple people with cameras around.

This was not harmless “youth activism.” It was mob behavior.

Denver Police told the station that five people were assaulted or involved in altercations. Three were transported to a hospital, another was treated at the scene, and a fifth reportedly left before officers could obtain a statement.

Police said investigators had contacted or identified several suspects. Two additional people were ticketed for graffiti.

A Denver Police spokesperson delivered a devastating assessment of the organizers’ recklessness:

“It is important to note that this was an unpermitted demonstration organized without a safety plan.”

Police said the lack of a safety plan contributed to the dangerous environment.

Students reportedly shouted at counterprotesters and displayed signs comparing federal immigration officers to Nazis, the Gestapo, and the Ku Klux Klan.

CBS Colorado reported that North High School students carried signs declaring “ICE = Nazis” while marching toward La Alma Park. Democratic congressional candidate Melat Kiros was scheduled to address the crowd.

School officials across the Front Range knew students planned to leave their classrooms. The Denver Gazette reported that Cherry Creek School District designated an on-campus protest area and said participating students would receive unexcused absences. The district claimed it did not endorse walkouts but said it respected students’ First Amendment rights.

The First Amendment, however, does not grant students immunity from attendance rules, school discipline, or criminal laws.

Students have a right to express political opinions. They do not have a right to abandon class without consequences, attack political opponents, destroy signs, vandalize property, or hurl metal bottles at people’s heads.

Every student who broke school rules should face the same attendance and disciplinary consequences that would apply to any other unauthorized absence. Every participant identified as committing an assault or vandalism should face serious school discipline and appropriate legal consequences, regardless of age or political viewpoint.

If administrators refuse to enforce their own rules after students left school and an unpermitted demonstration became violent, Colorado taxpayers should demand accountability from the districts involved.

Schools are funded to educate children, not to provide consequence-free staging grounds for radical political activism.
