Border czar Tom Homan put one of cable television’s most notorious leftists in her place after she invited him on her show for an ambush interview on Sunday.
Homan appeared as a guest on CNN’s State of the Union show to answer questions from host Dana Bash, who was focused on the Trump Administration’s immigration policies. But instead of a productive discussion, things got testy when Bash began her inquisition.
Bash at one point decided to whip out the race card in an effort to try to paint Homan and the rest of the Trump Administration as bigoted. She asked a gotcha question, which implied that Team Trump was targeting migrants based not on legality but skin color and accent.
But Homan kept his calm and hit her with a basic fact: those in America legally have nothing to fear from ICE because the agency only targets illegal aliens. He also made clear that race-baiting haters like Bash would not deter him from enforcing immigration law and keeping America safe,
Bash could only sit in silence as her tactic completely backfired.

BASH: One thing I have heard over and over again is that people who are in the United States legally are scared about getting swept up because of the color of their skin, because they speak with an accent, because of the location where they might be going…Are you comfortable with that?
HOMAN: If they’re in the country legally, they’ve got no reason to be afraid. ICE is looking for those in the country illegally and prioritizing public safety threats and national security threats.
We’re going to enforce immigration law. It’s not okay to be in this country illegally.
It’s not okay to enter this country illegally. It’s a crime. But legal aliens and US citizens should not be afraid that they’re going to be swept up in a raid.
We know who we’re looking for, and that’s what the agents are out there seeking. And again, they use a lot of information, mostly operations we conduct are targeted enforcement operations.
When we go out, we know exactly who we’re looking for. Most likely, we will find them. Many times, we have a criminal history and immigration history when we go out looking for that person.
So if you’re in a country legally, you shouldn’t fear ICE.
