The West Virginia National Guard has been ordered by the state’s Governor to deploy 300 to 400 troops to Washington, DC, amid President Trump’s federal crackdown on crime in Washington, DC.

“West Virginia is proud to stand with President Trump in his effort to restore pride and beauty to our nation’s capital. The men and women of our National Guard represent the best of our state, and this mission reflects our shared commitment to a strong and secure America,” Governor Patrick Morrisey said in a press release from his office.

President Trump deployed hundreds of National Guard troops and federal agents throughout the capital to patrol the streets and arrest criminals and illegal aliens.

Trump announced on Monday that he is taking federal control over Washington, DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and authorizing the use of National Guard troops to solve the “public safety emergency” in the nation’s capital.

“This is Liberation Day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back,” he said.

In addition to the massive amount of violent crime across the city, President Trump decided to deploy the National Guard and federalize DC after DOGE worker Edward Coristine, AKA “Big Balls,” was severely beaten by eight black thugs.

The President signed two executive actions on Monday, including invoking powers under section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act, which allows the President to take control of the Metropolitan Police Department under “special conditions of an emergency nature.”

He also signed a Presidential memorandum directing the Secretary of Defense to utilize National Guard troops to clean up DC and authorizing state governors to send their National Guard troops. “We will bring in the military if it’s needed,” Trump told reporters.

West Virginia is deploying their troops under the command of West Virginia Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Jim Seward this weekend at the direction of Governor Morrisey.

General Seward said in a statement, “We stand ready to support our partners in the National Capital Region and contribute to the collective effort of making our nation’s capital a clean and safe environment. The National Guard’s unique capabilities and preparedness make it an invaluable partner in this important undertaking.”

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – At the request of the Trump administration, Governor Patrick Morrisey has directed the West Virginia National Guard (WVNG) to support the President’s initiative to restore cleanliness and safety to Washington, D.C. Under the command of West Virginia Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, the WVNG will deploy troops to the nation’s capital as a show of commitment to public safety and regional cooperation.

WVNG involvement will include providing mission-essential equipment, specialized training, and approximately 300-400 skilled personnel as directed. The mission will be funded at the federal level. The WVNG remains steadfast in its commitment to its longstanding National Capital Region partnership.

“West Virginia is proud to stand with President Trump in his effort to restore pride and beauty to our nation’s capital,” said Governor Morrisey. “The men and women of our National Guard represent the best of our state, and this mission reflects our shared commitment to a strong and secure America.”

“This initiative aligns with our values of service and dedication to our communities,” said Maj. Gen. Seward. “We stand ready to support our partners in the National Capital Region and contribute to the collective effort of making our nation’s capital a clean and safe environment. The WVNG exemplifies the spirit of collaboration that is vital in today’s efforts to enhance the safety of our homeland while supporting state and federal missions.
