How an Unvaxxed Dating App Accidentally Started an International Incident (and a Movie)

In the fall of 2022, a paramedic named Kaleb sent a message to a woman named Jenna on a dating app called Unjected, the world’s first and largest dating app for people that chose NOT to take the experimental mRNA death jab.

Kaleb had just left Oregon for Tennessee to get out from under a vaccine mandate that would have ended his career and betrayed everything he believed in. He landed in a new state with no friends and no family close by. Jenna nearly didn’t write back.

Jenna had never trusted online dating and only built a profile because her mom kept nagging her about it. She happened to open her messages at the right moment. Her and Kaleb went on a first date that went on for four hours, and they both went home and wrote in their journals that night that they had just met the person they were going to marry.

They were not wrong.

Kaleb proposed not long after, and less than a year later a group of us stood in a pasture in Middle Tennessee and watched them get married.

Shelby Hosana, who founded Unjected back in 2021, wrote to them on their wedding day saying: “When we created Unjected, this very moment was just a dream for us. We prayed this idea would bring love and connection for beautiful people just like you.”

Fast forward to now. Kaleb and Jenna have two kids, and theirs was the first confirmed birth from a couple who found each other on the app. Shelby had spent years watching that family grow through photos without ever meeting them in person, so she booked a flight from her home in Maui to Nashville to finally meet them. Their second child arrived the day she landed.

That plane ticket is where the whole documentary began. You can watch Trailer 2, the heartwarming one, right here, and you can help us finish the film at givesendgo.com/unjected.

Then Denver happened.

Since Shelby was already on the mainland, we figured we would make the most of it and throw a few in-person unvaxxed singles mixers around the country. Denver, Nashville, Portland, and Boise. Grown adults getting a drink and meeting people who share their values.

We booked the Denver stop at a beer garden called Recess. Within days a local paper called Westword ran a smug hitpiece calling it a “Shingles mixer,” very proud of the pun. The backlash from that article spooked the venue, and Recess pulled the plug. According to our filing, Recess had actually told us through Instagram messages that the event was fine as long as we did not film, then reversed course once the pro-vaxxers piled into their comments and reviews. After that they went public claiming they never agreed to host us, cited safety threats, and pointed to policies that were not in play when we booked.

So we are seeing them in court. On May 27, Unjected filed suit in the U.S. District Court of Colorado for unlawful discrimination, defamation, and violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, seeking millions in damages. A public-facing business turned a group of adults away over a private medical decision, then put out statements about us that were not true. Somebody has to draw that line, or the next unvaxxed couple that tries to book a room gets the same treatment. The delicious part is that Westword’s own article is what pressured the venue into canceling, which is what created the lawsuit they now get to keep writing about. You are welcome, guys.

Here is the part the establishment never sees coming.

The Grizzly Rose, the largest country dance hall west of the Mississippi, heard what happened and offered to host us with zero hesitation. Owner Scott Durland had already been openly critical of Colorado’s COVID rules years back, so he did not blink. We renamed the event The Freedom Mixer. Around 200 unvaxxed singles showed up, and something like 80 percent of them told us they only found out about it because of the media meltdown. The people trying to shut us down keep functioning as our marketing department.

By then the story had gone fully nuclear. Wired ran a feature. The Washington Post covered it. The Daily Mail piled on, Playboy has a piece on the way, and Fox News went on air and called us a bunch of dirty hippies (jump to the 1:30 mark, it is worth it). An app for people who decline vaccines turned into an international news event because a few hundred of us wanted to gather in one room.

Every bit of it is going in the film.

What the movie actually is

We are finally telling the whole story of Unjected. It is a love story, a courtroom fight, a national controversy, packed-out unvaxxed mixers, real Unjected babies being born to couples who found each other by refusing to back down, and a community that got written off years ago and decided to get louder instead of quieter. We are still filming. The worldwide premiere is in Nashville (hopefully by early 2027), and the lawsuit is going to be part of the picture.

This is where you come in. Finishing a documentary the right way takes real money for production, post, and getting it in front of as many eyeballs as possible, and we would rather build it with our own people than crawl to a studio that hates us. Every dollar shapes how big this thing gets before we lock the picture.

Here is how you can jump in and support the film and the movement over at givesendgo.com/unjected

We’ve already had some major and exciting collaborations in the film, including Charlie Robinson himself from Activist Post and Macroaggressions. After our lawsuit was filed, we needed to find someone who was willing to go serve the paperwork to Recess, and Charlie was our first pick. He was eager to help.

Charlie enlisted the help of his friend and voracious truth teller, Jeff Warnock from Empath Eyes Studio and they pulled up and dropped the hammer on Recess. Charlie is quoted as saying “I think I speak for the team when I say I wish it didn’t have to come to this. This is not the solution to the problem. But this is what you are required to do when tyranny is destroying your society.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Recess figured canceling us would make us vanish. What they actually handed us was a viral story, coverage in every major outlet you can name, a documentary, a lawsuit, and the most loyal audience we have ever had. The next person who tells us we cannot gather, cannot date, cannot love, cannot have kids, and cannot exist is going to learn what Recess is learning right now.

Stay natural. Stay free. Stay Unjected.
