As he is being investigated by the Trump Administration, loathsome Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) has decided to launch a ridiculous probe of his own into the vice-president of the United States.
As NBC reported on Friday, Schiff is demanding answers over a federal request to raise the level of a river to accommodate a kayak trip JD Vance and his family took for his 41st birthday earlier this month.
“I write to you to express serious concerns regarding the potential abuse of power exercised by Vice President Vance and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on August 2, in which the Secret Service directed USACE to change the outflow of Ohio’s Caesar Creek Lake for a recreational boat outing for the Vice President’s birthday,” Schiff wrote.
Schiff also whined about the Trump administration’s decision during the Los Angeles fires to release billions of gallons of water from two California reservoirs.
“With the most recent act at Caesar Creek Lake, the Trump administration is providing further evidence of its willingness to exploit public resources for the personal and political benefit of administration officials,” Schiff wrote. “I hope that the public scrutiny of the Caesar Creek Lake water release will refocus the Army Corps on its mission to deliver vital engineering solutions that secure the country, energize the economy, and reduce risk from disasters.”
NBC News revealed that the letter was addressed to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Adam Telle, who is the assistant secretary of the Army for civil works, and Secret Service Director Sean Curran. Schiff is seeking answers to six questions by September 5th.
The Associated Press reported this month that the Army Corps of Engineers boosted outflows from Caesar Creek Lake to the Little Miami River, where the Vances were kayaking, “to support safe navigation of U.S. Secret Service personnel.”
A spokesperson for Vance, Taylor Van Kirk, explained that Vance had no involvement nor was aware of the decision. The Secret Service has since confirmed Vance was not involved in the decision to raise the water levels.
This news comes as Schiff is under investigation for mortgage fraud. Schiff, of course, claims the investigation is political.

In 2000 Schiff was elected to Congress and has served as a US House member from the state of California ever since. Schiff reportedly purchased a home in Maryland with his wife in 2003, stating they would occupy this home for 12 consecutive months as their “primary residence”. Despite this claim, Schiff continued to vote in California.
Schiff refinanced his home in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 claiming the Maryland home was his primary residence. In 2009, a House Ethics investigation claimed that Schiff did this and Schiff claimed it was an error and he repaid the exempt taxes to the state of Maryland.
