President Trump is scheduled to make an announcement on “American Nuclear Innovation” from the White House this afternoon.
This comes as the Trump Administration eyes the prospects of advanced nuclear energy reactors offshore in US waters.
Three new experimental nuclear reactors, built after a May 2025 executive order, have reached “criticality,” meaning they can produce a steady release of energy.
“President Trump has done more than any other president in history to advance civilian nuclear energy development, innovation, and technology,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told News Nation.
“In this Golden Age of America, President Trump has unleashed a nuclear energy renaissance to meet the nation’s growing energy needs while keeping prices low.”
This also comes as the US establishes a new “Civil Nuclear Deal” with Saudi Arabia for the Saudis to build a non-military nuclear program.
Trump said on Truth Social yesterday that the deal will be conditional upon Saudi Arabia signing onto the Abraham Accords.
”The Civil Nuclear Deal (There will be no enrichment of material!) being made between the United States Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia, which pertains only to non-military use such as the ones that Iran and UAE (and others) already have, will be approved, but is totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords,” the President wrote.

The United States is not opposed to Civil (Non-Enriched) Nuclear Facilities. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
President Trump will likely field questions on the Saudi nuclear deal as well as the Iran war during his announcement at 3:00 pm ET.
