President Trump is scheduled to address the nation from the Oval Office this afternoon, reportedly to announce another new deal with drugmaker AstaZeneca.
This comes after Trump announced a deal with Pfizer that will provide Americans with heavily discounted prescription drugs at most-favored-nation prices.
Pfizer’s brand-name medications will now be available to all medicaid recipients at a discount of up to 80%.
During his announcement, spoke about the drugprice cuts he secured in his first term, for which Biden took credit.

Trump has also said he is working with multiple other drugmakers to bring the cost down for American citizens.

President Donald Trump is expected on Friday to announce a deal with drugmaker AstraZeneca in his latest effort to lower drug costs through so-called “Most Favored Nation” pricing, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The move comes after the president unveiled last week an agreement with Pfizer to reduce prices on many of its drugs, as Trump demanded in a July letter to pharmaceutical company CEOs.
The AstraZeneca arrangement is expected to be similar, the two sources said.
Administration officials said last week more deals would be released soon. The details of Friday’s announcement were first reported by CBS News on X and by MSNBC.
The President is scheduled to make his announcement at 5 pm ET.
