Texas A&M University President Mark Welsh has resigned amid fallout over a viral classroom video that resulted in a professor kicking a student out of class after an argument about gender identity.

Chancellor Glenn Hegar and the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents announced that University President Mark Welsh will step down from his role on Friday.

Welsh’s resignation arrives at the heels of Texas A&M removing two officials after a student and professor were heard arguing about radical gender ideology in a viral video, which ended with the student getting kicked out of the classroom by the professor.

“WE DID IT! TEXAS A&M PRESIDENT IS OUT!” Texas State Rep. Brian Harrison (R-District 10) said in a Thursday X post. “Another MASSIVE victory for the LIBERTY BOTS against the Austin Swamp Rats!”

“As the first elected official to call for him to be fired, this news is welcome, although overdue,” Harrison added. “Now… END ALL DEI AND LGBTQ INDOCTRINATION IN TEXAS!!”

Moreover, the Texas A&M president is also the latest university executive to step down amid the Trump administration’s crackdown on radical leftist ideology being taught at schools.

It also comes at a time when educators across the country are facing firings and investigations over their heinous social media posts in reaction to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was murdered last week, while trying to have an open and respectful dialogue with a student at Utah Valley University, to which leftists — including people who work in education, healthcare, and as public servants — across the U.S. reacted by sharing ghoulish online messages.

For millions around the world, this served as a major mask-off and watershed moment, in which the public has been able to see firsthand the shocking depravity and degradation of society.

Ironically, the examples from teachers celebrating Kirk’s murder have highlighted the very issue the Turning Point USA founder spent years exposing — the left-wing extremism that students are exposed to at all levels of the American education system.
