Shocker: Hero Lone Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial Grew Frustrated as Mostly Female Panel Talked Over Each Other

This American hero becomes more likable by the day.

The lone holdout who blocked an insanity acquittal for admitted child killer Lindsay Clancy was not just “arrogant,” as three female jurors told Boston television last week.

According to a new interview with the Daily Mail, he was also the man in the room who kept asking the mostly female jury to stop talking over one another and listen.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, three female jurors, including foreperson Roni Carlson, then sat down with NBC10 Boston and unloaded on the holdout. They called him arrogant. They said he “would not interact.” Kellie Farina said he “had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”

Carlson said she was “so excited” she started filling out the not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity forms after he acknowledged reasonable doubt, until he stopped her and said he still would not vote that way.

Earlier, it was revealed that the lone holdout was a Black man.

During a Friday CBS interview with juror Paula Devlin, King wanted to know exactly who the holdout juror was, likely thinking he was a heartless White man.

“I’m curious about the jurors themselves because we know it was nine women, three men. What was the age range? What was the racial makeup? I haven’t heard any of that. What was it?” she asked Devlin.  

Devlin revealed that the jurors ranged in age from “70ish to 22” and that it was all White with one person of color. She then confirmed that the lone holdout juror was a black man.

Now, according to an interview with Paula Devlin published by the Daily Mail, the unidentified male juror repeatedly objected when members of the mostly female panel spoke over one another.

“He would get upset and say, ‘Listen to what she’s saying, listen to what he’s saying, be respectful,’” Devlin told the newspaper.

Devlin said the juror would lecture the panel about showing respect during deliberations. She also claimed he spent breaks speaking with his wife or watching videos on his phone.

Fellow juror Nick Dargie, a 25-year-old veteran and one of the other men on the panel, later told ABC the holdout scrolled his phone while people talked at him and at one point tied an exhibit exercise band around a water bottle and pulled, a moment Dargie called “disgusting.”

Devlin claimed the holdout juror also questioned the amount of blood found at the crime scene, despite testimony from experts explaining the blood evidence. She further accused him of failing to properly apply the legal standard of reasonable doubt.

Following the mistrial, Clancy’s attorney asked Judge Sullivan to enter a not-guilty-by-reason-of-lack-of-criminal-responsibility finding and prevent a second trial. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a retrial. The case is scheduled to return to court on September 29.
