John Fetterman of Pennsylvania – Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Senator John Fetterman is unlike any other member of his party. During a recent event with hosts from News Nation, he explained why he refuses to use the extreme rhetoric that is used by other Democrats.

He says that many of his family members voted for Trump and that they are obviously not fascists.

He also reminds the audience how close we came to losing Trump to a shooter because of this type of rhetoric.

Via the Vigilant Fox on Twitter/X:

“I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. They are NOT fascists, they’re NOT Nazis, they’re NOT trying to destroy the Constitution.”

“I REFUSE to call people Nazis or fascists. I would never compare anybody — anybody to Hitler.”

“Like Charlie Kirk, all I could say is let people grieve — give people the space. I’m not going to use that terrible thing and that assassination to make my argument and try to put out my views.”

“It’s like, my God, he’s a father that had his neck blown out by a bullet. And now people have forgotten: President Trump was in my state — was shot in the head. Could you imagine where our nation would be if he were hit in the same way as Kirk? We really got to turn the temperature down.”

Watch:

John Fetterman brings the Kennedy Center to complete silence as he delivers this emotional message on stage:

During the same event, Fetterman talked about the shutdown.

From The Hill:

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has criticized Democrats over the government shutdown, adding that discussions on health care subsidies can take place when the government is funded.

“I follow country, then party,” Fetterman said at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday night during NewsNation’s live town hall.

Fetterman said some of his constituents are angry with him over the shutdown and the state of the war between Israel and Hamas prior to the recent ceasefire.

“I would love to have a conversation on health care [subsidies],” Fetterman said. “But [the shutdown] is wrong for the country … . I can’t vote for shutting the government down.”

Fetterman was one of three members of the Senate Democratic Conference to vote for a Republican-backed proposal to fund the government through Nov. 21, along with Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.) and Angus King (Maine), an independent who caucuses with Democrats.

It’s just amazing that Fetterman is the most rational and reasonable member of his party.
