Plymouth DA TORCHES “Reporter” Who Asked If Prosecuting Lindsay Clancy Was “Insensitive”: “Insensitive Is KILLING 3 CHILDREN!”

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz delivered a blistering response Friday after a reporter suggested that prosecuting Lindsay Clancy for the deaths of her three young children was somehow “insensitive.”

The extraordinary exchange occurred outside the courthouse after Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial when jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict following seven days and more than 38 hours of deliberations.

A reporter asked the veteran prosecutor whether his office’s decision to try Clancy for first-degree murder in the strangling deaths of her three children was “insensitive,” because, the reporter claimed, 11 jurors “didn’t necessarily believe” the prosecution’s case.

“Insensitive?” he shot back. “Insensitive is killing 3 children. Insensitive is ignoring those facts. We have an obligation to stand up for those [kids] and seek justice, and make sure they get justice.”

He added that if people cannot understand that basic moral reality, he does not know how to answer the question.

He had to ask again to make sure he understood the idiocy of the question before responding:

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Judge Sullivan declared a mistrial Friday after the jury reported for a third time that it could not reach a unanimous decision.

Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, demanded that the judge remove a lone juror whom the defense accused of refusing to apply the court’s reasonable-doubt instructions. Sullivan rejected that request and later declared a mistrial after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court denied the defense’s emergency request for a stay.

The Gateway Pundit also reported Thursday on the courtroom drama surrounding the alleged holdout juror and the defense’s attempt to have that juror removed.

The trial had already descended into a media circus. As The Gateway Pundit reported, a woman was arrested outside the courthouse after allegedly attempting to photograph jurors, while a Vanity Fair freelancer was dropped after she was caught smiling and winking at a courtroom camera.

Cruz said prosecutors have not yet decided whether Clancy will be retried. The case is expected to return to court for a status hearing on September 29.

Whatever happens next, Cruz made one thing perfectly clear: The three murdered children will not be forgotten simply because their mother’s defense and supporters want the public to focus exclusively on her.
