On Thursday, news broke that beloved news anchor Maria Bartiromo was out at FOX News and FOX Business Network.

Maria has been a trusted morning anchor at FOX Media for over 12 years.

The morning star reporter was noticeably absent from her time slot for weeks.

As Cristina Laila reported earlier, FOX News Media released a statement on her departure.

Last night, there were reports that Maria was “fired” after FOX Media nixed her segment on election fraud in the 2020 election.

Veteran investigative journalist and Just the News founder John Solomon reported Friday that claims Bartiromo was “fired” by Fox News are not true.

Solomon wrote on X:

“The reports that Maria Bartiromo was ‘fired’ are not true. She remains under contract with Fox News and receiving her pay until 2029.”

According to Solomon, Bartiromo will not return to the air but remains under contract and will continue receiving compensation through 2029.

The reports that @MariaBartiromo Bartiromo was “fired“ are not true. She remains under contract with Fox News and receiving her pay until 2029. She has been removed from air and won’t return. But she continues to remain with Fox at present under the pay or play provision of a…

Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, also issued a blistering denial of reports that the veteran anchor had been fired.

“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” Freedman told TheWrap.

Freedman warned that Bartiromo’s team has “the receipts and witnesses” to support its position and suggested the evidence could emerge in court.

Read the full statement below:

“For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career.

The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”

This directly conflicts with the carefully worded statement released by Fox News Media on Thursday.

“Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media,” the network announced, adding that it wished her “all the best on her next chapter.”

Fox also announced that Mornings with Maria would be renamed Mornings with FOX Business and hosted by rotating anchors. Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street will become FBN’s Wall Street, while former Congressman Jason Chaffetz will temporarily take over Sunday Morning Futures.

Fox described Bartiromo’s departure only as a “business decision” and did not publicly disclose the terms of her contract or any separation agreement.

What we are hearing: Multiple reports, citing people familiar with the matter, said the trigger was that she shared confidential internal Fox guidance with the Trump White House. After President Trump’s July 2026 speech containing election-related claims, Fox executives instructed staff not to give those claims airtime. Bartiromo reportedly passed that directive (described in some accounts as a text message) to White House officials. Fox treated the disclosure as a violation of her employment agreement. She had not appeared on air since August 9.

The Gateway Pundit reached out to Maria Bartiromo yesterday to show our support and wish her the best of luck in the future.

She will be missed on FOX News and FOX Business Network.
