Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds won Florida’s Republican primary for Governor on Tuesday evening.

Byron Donalds will face off against Democrat David Jolly.

Businessman Jim Schwartzel won the GOP primary to replace Donalds’ house seat.

Byron Donalds served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, Donalds won the election for Florida’s 19th Congressional District.

President Trump endorsed Byron Donalds.

Florida Republicans lined up to greet Byron Donalds at a campaign even this week.

Byron Donalds will make history as Florida’s first black governor.

Donalds lives in Naples, Florida, with his wife and their three sons.

“While serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Byron made his mark as a champion for school choice and protecting parental rights in education. Donalds led the effort to enact Hope Scholarships that empowered parents with school choice and passed a first-in-the-nation bill to that allowed parents and community members to review instructional materials in schools. Donalds chaired the prominent House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, working to strengthen the state’s economy and make Florida more affordable. Governor Rick Scott also appointed Byron to the Board of Trustees for Florida South Western State College,” Donalds boasted on his campaign website.
