ABC late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel condemned the assassination of conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, calling it a “horrible and monstrous” act.

Kimmel posted his message to social media, including Instagram and Blue Sky.

“Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

While Kimmel condemned the shooting, his followers on Blue Sky were less compassionate, with many say Kirk had it coming.

“No, Jimmy. Fuck you for trying to humanize a vile instigator of violence that received his karma. Have your team research his actual speeches before offering love to a monster. Learn the paradox of tolerance,” said one Blue Sky user.

“Nope. He was a rage baiting, gun loving piece of shit and got precisely what he was asking for,” said another Blue Sky user.

“That’s disrespectful of his legacy. He was extremely vocal on the point that empathy is a modern weakness and that gun deaths from school shootings were an inevitable, acceptable cost of the 2nd amendment. He wouldn’t want you to send love to his family, can’t you honor his wishes?” said another user.

Charlie Kirk was gunned down while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and two children. President Trump honored him upon learning of his death.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Trump wrote. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
