House of Cards star Robin Wright has left the United States.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Wright said that America had become a “shitshow” and that she was happy to have left.

“It’s liberating to be done,” she explained. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted.”

Wright went on to praise her new country, adding that she was relieved to get away from the noise of Los Angeles.

“I love being in this country,” she added of England. “There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind.”

“They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”

The 59-year-old, who also is known for her role as Jenny in Forest Gump, did not mention President Trump by name.

While not an overtly political figure, Wright has made clear in the past that she is a supporter of the Democrat Party.

Following Joe Biden’s decision to pick Kamala Harris as his running mate during the 2020 presidential election, Wright made no secret of her political intentions.

“Black women and women of color have long been underrepresented in elected office and in November we have an opportunity to change that,” Wright wrote on Instagram, quoting Harris herself.

“LET’S GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!” she continued.

Wright is far from the only Hollywood star to cross the pond since Trump won election last November.

The disgraced former comedian Ellen DeGeneres announced in December that she and her wife Portia DeRossi had moved to England because of Trump’s victory.

“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,’” she explained at the time.

”‘And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.’”

Meanwhile, her fellow comedienne Rosie O’Donnell is similarly pursuing a new life in Ireland after Trump’s presidency became too much for her.

“With the current political climate, when would it be safe to come back with my child?” she said of returning to America back in May.

“I’m not going to push it before this administration is completely finished, and hopefully held accountable for their crimes.”
