ForbesToday’s NYT Strands Puzzle: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Saturday, June 28thBy Erik Kain

It’s Sunday and we have a very special Strands puzzle to solve. Seriously, I think this is the most creative Strands I’ve played since its inception, so tell your friends and family to give it a shot. I’m always happy to see the puzzle setters at the New York Times going the extra mile. Let’s solve it!

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Hints

Read on for today’s theme and some hints to help you uncover today’s words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I’m giving out three hints instead of two.

Today’s Theme: Hue are my sunshine

Hint: Colors

Clue: Honestly, that’s the only clue you need for this one.

Instead of the first two letters, here are my bonus clues today:

  • 🟧
  • 🟨
  • 🟪
  • 🟦
  • 🟩
  • 🪻
  • 🌈

Remember, spoilers ahead!

What Are Today’s Strands Answers?

Today’s spangram is: CHASINGRAINBOWS

Here’s the full list of words:

  • ORANGE
  • YELLOW
  • INDIGO
  • BLUE
  • GREEN
  • VIOLET

Here’s the completed Strands grid:

Today’s Strands Breakdown

See what I mean? Such a creative idea to make each word the color it represents. I found VIOLET first, then YELLOW and ORANGE. GREEN and BLUE were next and then I found RAINBOW, though it took me a bit to find CHASINGRAINBOWS, which is a cool spangram because it actually sort of looks like the shape of a rainbow also. INDIGO was last. Not the hardest Strands ever, but certainly one of my favorites so far.

How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook.
