Merz keeps going down.
Sixteen months into his term as Chancellor, CDU leader Friedrich Merz has managed to become the most unpopular German leader in recorded history.
He came to power after the highly unpopular Olaf Scholz, but in all the most vital aspects, Merz is a faithful continuation of the Globalist policies of his predecessor.
So, with high taxes, crippling ‘green’ ideas, out of control migration, and constant warmongering for Ukraine – to name but a few problems – Merz is sinking in the polls, as he watches the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) surging, even winning the vote in the Saxony regional poll.
It’s gotten so bad for Merz that, now, 78 percent think he should leave office.
BILD reported (translated from the German):
“Things are currently coming thick and fast for Chancellor Friedrich Merz: In Saxony-Anhalt, his CDU was slapped down, the AfD is running away from it in nationwide polls, and the SPD is threatening a major reform dispute. As if that were not enough, it is now becoming even more uncomfortable for the chancellor personally.
Because: Only a meagre 14 percent (just one in seven) consider Merz to be the right chancellor. 78 percent are now against the CDU chairman in the Chancellery. Particularly dramatic: Even in his own ranks, support is dwindling. 58 percent of Union voters are against the chancellor, only 36 percent for him. This is the result of a new INSA survey for BILD.”
Yes, you read it right: almost six out of ten voters from his own party now reject his leadership.
His faithful implementation of the Globalist mandates emanating from Brussels and Strasbourg guarantees him a future as EU commissioner or at some fancy think-tank – but, as a Chancellor, Merz’s career seems all but over.
“Merz’s popularity has been melting away for more than a year. In mid-2025, significantly more than 30 percent were still satisfied with his work. At the beginning of September 2026, it was only 16 percent.”
CDU names like Markus Söder, Hendrik Wüst and Alexander Dobrindt are frequently mentioned as alternatives to Merz.
