Later this year, the UN will be hosting a major summit on the world’s water supply. The Global Water Conference 2026 is being assembled to tackle what the UN is calling “water bankruptcy”, and pursue Sustainable Development Goal 6 in pursuit of Agenda 2030.
Let’s be clear here – we’re not talking about populous arid regions out-growing their aquifer capacity, or aging infrastructure lagging behind urban sprawl. All these are ongoing issues that need to be dealt with – but this is not what the Global Water Conference is aimed at.
