PORT CARBON — Felony drug charges against a Pottsville man were held for court Tuesday.

Buddy Charles Noel, 45, who is in an inmate at State Correctional Institution Dallas, Luzerene County, attended a preliminary hearing in Magisterial District Judge David Plachko’s courtroom, Port Carbon.

Saint Clair police officer Christopher Wallace testified during the brief stipulated hearing.

Saint Clair Police in February charged Noel in connection with a Sept. 11, 2024, incident. He was wanted on an active warrant, and police found him in the Exxon Gas Station in the borough.

Wallace testified that while at the gas station, he told Noel to stand up from the skill machine so he could be arrested. Noel had a bookbag with him, which police later took into evidence.

Inside the bag, police said they found drugs including methamphetamine, clonazepam, fentanyl, heroin and medetomidine, according to lab test results from the state police Bethlehem Regional Laboratory. Also, 12 hypodermic needles, one partially filled, were found in the bag along with a marijuana wax pen, glassine bags, two straws with residue and $385 in cash, police said.

Online court records show Noel is listed as an inmate in Schuylkill County Prison; however, an employee said he isn’t in the system. Wallace had transported him from SCI Dallas for the hearing.
