An alleged Tulsa, Oklahoma, home intruder was shot around 12:00 a.m. Monday then identified and arrested after dropping his wallet while fleeing the armed resident. NewsOn6 reported that the alleged intruder broke into the home and was confronted by the resident. The Tulsa Police Department indicated the suspect allegedly reached for his waistband, leading the resident to conclude he might have a gun. Therefore, the resident shot him. The wounded suspect fled the scene and dropped his wallet on the way out, thereby identifying himself as 47-year-old Alvin Basham. Police later located Basham, who “was bleeding from a gunshot wound but was immediately…
The Pentagon has barred journalists from entering its press office after redesignating it a classified space, the latest in a series of restrictions on reporters’ access to the department. First reported by the Washington Post late on Monday, the move was confirmed by Acting Pentagon Press Secretary Joel Valdez, who said journalists would no longer be permitted to enter the office because speechwriters working for Secretary of War Pete Hegseth routinely handle classified information there. Access to senior public affairs officials would remain available by appointment.“This is the most transparent War Department in history,” Valdez wrote on X, adding “No amount…
The modern world is entering one of the most dangerous periods in recent history. Economic wars, rising geopolitical tensions, massive blackouts, water shortages, and collapsing infrastructure are no longer isolated problems, but signs of a growing global crisis. Behind the illusion of technological progress and stability, entire systems are beginning to weaken under pressure, creating a climate of fear, uncertainty, and instability that continues spreading across nations with alarming speed. For decades, modern civilization cultivated the illusion of permanence. Cities expanded endlessly beneath oceans of electric light, financial markets operated every second of the day across interconnected continents, and governments…
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on Monday announced the reopening of the airport in Bunia, the capital city of Ituri province, which is the epicenter of the Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak. The DRC Ministry of Transport and Communications suspended all flights to and from Bunia Airport on May 27 as a “precautionary measure” to “prevent any cross-border spread of the epidemic and to ensure the health and safety of passengers, crews and airport staff.” The flight ban included exceptions for humanitarian and medical flights, subject to approval from the DRC’s aviation and health ministries, but local residents complained that…
Tuesday on CNN’s “The Arena,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) refused to denounce Maine U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo. Host Kasie Hunt said, “So speaking of politics there today Graham Platner, the likely nominee for Senate in Maine, was meeting with Democrats after additional revelations. There have been some in your caucus, including, Cory Booker and, John Fetterman, notably, who’ve criticized Platner and raised questions about whether he’s the right nominee in that race. Do you think, considering everything on the line control of the Senate, that could come down to that race in Maine, is he the right person…
Tuesday was supposed to be a voting day in the House, with members flying back to Washington to begin their workweek by passing a slate of bipartisan bills. Instead the floor was largely deserted after Republican leaders pushed back the chamber’s first votes — further adding to a gaping divide between the House and Senate in how often lawmakers on each side of the Capitol are carrying out their most basic legislative duties. According to a POLITICO analysis of the Congressional Record, the House has gaveled in 241 days during the 119th Congress, compared to the Senate’s 284 session days.…
Zelensky has angered Warsaw by honoring nationalist figures blamed for massacres of Poles Bartosz Cichocki, who served as Poland’s ambassador to Ukraine from 2019 to 2023, has returned a state award granted to him by Vladimir Zelensky, citing Kiev’s latest round of honoring nationalist figures who collaborated with Nazi Germany and took part in ethnic cleansings. The move follows Ukraine’s state reburial last month of Andrey Melnik, who co-founded Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) in 1929 and later competed with Stepan Bandera for influence within the movement. Both men have been criticized for their collaboration with Nazi Germany during the Second…
A cargo ship was attacked by drones while sailing near the Umm Qasr port in Iraq on Monday. On Tuesday, Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for a missile attack against a commercial vessel, describing it as justified retaliation for an attack by the “terrorist and child-killing U.S. military” against an Iranian ship. The first incident occurred on Monday, roughly 40 nautical miles southeast of Umm Qasr. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center (UKMTO) said the ship involved was hit by an unknown “projectile” on its starboard side, resulting in a large explosion. According to Iraqi…
Tuesday on MS NOW’s “The Beat,” Democratic strategist James Carville said something was wrong with President Donald Trump, based on the president’s visits to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Carville said, “In all my years in politics I’ve never heard the leader of a political party say, I don’t care if we win the election or not, it matters nothing to me. And maybe he is so self-absorbed that that’s true.” Host Ari Melber said, “Right, that he’s blurting the truth and they might be talking about it the day after the November elections. Again, I…
Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) applauded the Colombian electoral integrity system following a trip to the country as an observer in Sunday’s presidential election, describing it as “world-class” and a model to learn from for the United States. Sen. Moreno made the remarks during a call with the media on Tuesday in which he detailed his experiences in the country as an election observer and responded to claims by outgoing President Gustavo Petro, a Marxist who regularly boasts of his membership in a terrorist guerrilla, that the election was fraudulent. Sen. Moreno gave Colombian authorities an “A+” for their handling of…
