Amy Acton’s “Armed Man Lunged” Narrative COLLAPSES as Prosecutor Reveals Video Shows Man Recording and Calling Out Her Name — Weapons Never Drawn, No Threats Found

The carefully constructed narrative surrounding an alleged “armed attack” on Ohio Democrat gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton is rapidly falling apart.

Patrick Havas, 38, was arrested Sunday after entering the Mahoning County Democratic Party tent at the Canfield Fair while Acton was speaking.

Acton’s campaign immediately portrayed the incident as a terrifying act of political violence, claiming that an “armed individual lunged” at the Democrat candidate and injured multiple people.

“While attending the Canfield Fair, an armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people,” Acton campaign communications director Addie Bullock said in a statement.

“Dr. Acton and Eric are grateful for the swift and decisive action of law enforcement and are praying for the recovery of those injured,” Bullock added. “This kind of violence has no place in Ohio. Dr. Acton will always stand up to the chaos, hate and vitriol that pits us against one another.”

Left-wing outlets treated it like a MAGA hit job at a county fair. The actual charging document is two misdemeanor assault counts for knocking people down, plus disorderly conduct and inducing panic. No felony. No attempt charge. No brandishing charge.

The Gateway Pundit flagged the mismatch immediately.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the facts already known Sunday night did not support the most sensational claims circulating online. Havas never drew either handgun, never touched Acton and was not accused of making a threat against her.

During Havas’ Tuesday arraignment, Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro told the court that Havas apparently entered the tent because he wanted to ask Acton questions.

“He appeared in that tent wanting to ask questions,” Maro told the judge, according to the Associated Press.

Maro said investigators reviewed a recording made by Havas himself. The footage reportedly shows him entering the tent with his phone recording, moving forward through the gathering and repeatedly calling out Acton’s name.

There was no weapon in his hand.

There was no recorded threat.

There was no physical contact with Acton.

Havas never reached the Democrat candidate before members of her Ohio State Highway Patrol security detail intercepted him.

Law enforcement also received permission to search Havas’ cellphone and reportedly discovered no threats against Acton.

That is a serious problem for a campaign that immediately blasted out the explosive claim that an armed man had “lunged” at its candidate.

Authorities previously confirmed that Havas possessed two handguns, a Taser and brass knuckles. However, the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office said none of the weapons was brandished or removed from its holster during the incident.

Acton was never touched and suffered no injuries.

Havas is accused of knocking down two people while pushing through the crowded tent. Both individuals were treated at the fair and released, according to the incident report.

He pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two counts of assault, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of inducing panic. His bond was set at $5,000.
