A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected a Democrat effort to reinstate Missouri’s 6R-2D Congressional map.
The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a stay of the lower court’s order reinstating the GOP-favored map.
The three-judge panel included: Loken (George H. W. Bush), Stras (Trump) and Justin D. Smith (Trump).
Wednesday’s order comes amid a dramatic legal battle that enfolded this week.
A federal judge on Tuesday afternoon ordered Missouri to use its new GOP-favored congressional map just hours after the Supreme Court denied the state’s emergency application.
US District Judge Stephen Clark, a Trump appointee, issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) blocking Missouri from using its 2022 congressional map.
Chief Judge Clark issued the TRO with just seven minutes before the 5 pm ballot deadline on Tuesday.
The TRO is for 14 days.

The Supreme Court earlier Tuesday denied Missouri’s emergency appeal to use the GOP-favored Congressional map in this year’s midterm elections.
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh denied Missouri’s emergency application without comment.
Missouri’s Attorney General Catherine Hanaway responded to Judge Clark’s order.
“Missouri is prepared to follow and comply with Chief Judge Clark’s order that binds the state to using the Missouri FIRST map for the November General Election,” Hanaway said.
“We maintain that changing the congressional map in between the primary and general elections is simply not feasible and profoundly unjust to Missouri voters,” she added.
The Democrat-led redistricting challengers rushed to the US Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon to challenge the district court ruling that came down late Tuesday.
