On Wednesday, three jurors in the Lindsay Clancy murder case broke their silence after the judge declared a mistrial.
Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children to death in January 2023.
The young children, Cora (5), Callan (8 months), and Dawson (3), were found dead in the Clancy, Massachusetts, home’s basement.
Lindsay Clancy admitted to killing her three children, however, her defense team is arguing she should not be found guilty by reason of insanity.
The defense teams argued that Lindsay Clancy was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and heard voices commanding her to kill her children.
Prosecutors argued that Lindsay Clancy acted with deliberate premeditation and even sent her husband out on an errand while she murdered their kids.
The jury considered five verdicts:
– Guilty of First-Degree Murder
– Guilty of Second-Degree Murder
– Guilty of Manslaughter
– Not Guilty
– Not Guilty due to Lack of Criminal Responsibility
Eleven jurors were ready to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, but one lone male juror held the line and refused to buckle to pressure.
The judge last Friday declared a mistrial after a dramatic showdown in court with Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington.
Reddington lashed out at the lone male juror holdout and accused him of lying under oath about the ‘reasonable doubt’ standard.
On Tuesday, three of the Clancy jurors sat down with NBC’s Sue O’Connell and trashed the lone holdout.
“He was very arrogant! He literally did not take anything that anybody said…” one juror said.
“He had reasonable doubt! He admitted he had reasonable doubt after we watched that video of the interview… and started filling out the forms, I was so excited!” another juror said.
“I’m not sure if rogue is the right word, but we would all walk around the room and we’d all go to the cart with the exhibits — I think he got up to the cart once very briefly and he went back to his seat,” another juror said of the lone holdout.
And then the juror dropped this gem…
“But he had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children!” the juror said.
