A federal grand jury issued a subpoena to James Comey’s mole, Daniel Richman, as part of a new investigation into Comey’s leaking classified information to The New York Times.
After James Comey was fired as FBI Director by President Trump in May 2017, he gave contents of his classified ‘Trump memos’ to his friend and Columbia Law School professor Daniel Richman.
Richman then leaked contents of the classified memos to The New York Times.
The leak of Comey’s ‘Trump memos’ by Daniel Richman to the New York Times in May of 2017, triggered the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel.
The DOJ launched a new investigation into Comey’s classified leaks to the media through Daniel Richman after a judge previously blocked the DOJ from obtaining Richman’s electronics.

A federal grand jury issued a subpoena to former FBI Director James Comey’s longtime friend and advisor on Monday as part of a new investigation into Comey allegedly leaking classified information to the media.
The subpoena targets former Comey adviser Daniel Richman and indicates that the Justice Department has launched a fresh investigation into the leak of classified information to the New York Times. The issue was also investigated under President Donald Trump’s first term, but was cut off when former President Joe Biden entered office.
James Comey knew his ‘friend’ Daniel Richman was talking to the media, backing up claims in then-Interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s case against the former FBI Director.
Comey was clearly working with Daniel Richman to anonymously leak information about Hillary Clinton’s email scandal to the New York Times.
This contradicts Comey’s claims that he was being maliciously prosecuted.

Last year, a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted James Comey. He was indicted on two counts – false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.
The charges were related to Comey’s testimony to Senate investigators in September 2020 about whether he authorized leaks to the media.
Newly released November 2016 emails reveal that James Comey was guiding his media mole, Daniel Richman, and authorized leaks to the media.
Comey’s case was eventually thrown out after a Clinton judge dismissed the case based on the Appointments Clause.
Last year, Daniel Richman filed a lawsuit and sought to block the Justice Department from accessing his files as the Trump Administration moved to hit James Comey with another indictment.
The feds seized materials from Daniel Richman several years ago, and he asked a judge to block the DOJ from accessing his files.
US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, a Clinton appointee, would not let the feds search Richman’s personal computer hard drive for additional classified information without a search warrant.
Judge Kollar-Kotelly previously ordered the DOJ to return all materials it seized from Comey’s media mole a week after she blocked federal prosecutors from accessing key evidence in the criminal case against James Comey.
