Moron AOC Says the Senate Was “Founded on, on, uh, on, Jim Crow” While Defending DSA’s Calls to Abolish the Senate (VIDEO)

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) put her IQ on full display on Friday when she was asked about the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) desire to abolish the Senate.

The Democratic Socialists of America recently unveiled their new “Workers Deserve More” platform, which includes abolishing the Senate and expanding the House of Representatives, replacing the Supreme Court and the President with Congressionally chosen leaders, ranked-choice voting in all elections, open borders and amnesty for all, and abolishing private businesses.

During a Friday appearance on Fox News, New York City DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo discussed the DSA’s vision, describing the democratically elected Senate as “a non-democratic institution.”

“It gives more representation to people in smaller states than to the 30 million people in California,” he said. He did not respond to Martha MacCallum educating him on the balance created by the Senate giving states equal representation, while the House of Representatives is apportioned based on a state’s population.

Instead, he noted that “most people are very unhappy with the political system” and demanded radical changes to the Constitution. “Back in those moments,” he said, referencing the abolition of slavery and granting women’s suffrage, “those were considered radical movements because those people dared to say we need transformative change in the United States.”

He then doubled down on abolishing or reforming the Senate and emphasized his focus on “short-term” change, including freezing rent and universal childcare.

Likewise, AOC tried to claim the Senate goes against democratic values, claiming that it emerged from Jim Crow segregation laws.

The Senate was created in the Constitution when it was ratified in 1788, and the first session was held in 1789. The Jim Crow era spanned from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, beginning nearly 100 years after the Senate opened its doors.

But they apparently don’t teach that in arts degree programs.

“I don’t support the filibuster. I don’t support elements of this institution that we know, um, you know, were founded on, on, uh, on Jim Crow,” she said, wincing as if it was painful to think.

Meanwhile, as The Gateway Pundit reported, several other House Democrats wisely distanced themselves from the DSA’s radical agenda when confronted on Friday.
