#ShutdownSchumer is not used to being called out by friendly media or by Americans, who have largely given this Democrat dinosaur a pass on his anti-American legislation for several decades.
Yesterday, the Democrat leader appeared on CNN with host John Berman to plead his case about why Americans should accept their shutdown, to a cable network who are traditionally in lock-step with Democrats on almost every issue. Prior to their discussion, the CNN host shared a clip of Senator Schumer showing him mocking his fellow Republican lawmakers, who had the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013 and threatened a government shutdown over the Democrats’ out-of-control, taxpayer-funded spending.
In the video clip, pro-government shutdown Senator Schumer can be heard saying, “What if I persuaded my caucus to say I’m gonna shut the government down, unless I get my way?” Schumer, of course, this is exactly what Democrats are saying today, without actually saying, “I’m going to shut the government down unless Republicans agree to give illegal aliens free healthcare!” He continued, calling the Republicans’ strong opposition to excessive government spending, “A policy of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis.
Again, in the same montage shown by CNN’s John Berman, Senator Schumer can be seen in 2019, blasting Republicans over a looming shutdown, “Shutting down government over a policy differece is self-defeating. We can never hold American workers hostage again!” Schumer demanded it only six years ago.
Once the montage showing the hypocrisy of the Democrat leader concluded, a clearly flustered Schumer, who is currently holding government workers hostage, responded by saying, “Yeah, that was in March, John, before they had done these horrible things to healthcare.” Of course, Senator Schumer is not referring to “horrible things done to healthcare” for American citizens, but instead, is referring to illegal aliens, who Joe Biden and the Democrat Party flooded our nation with during his 4 disastrous years in office.

Americans who used to trust Democrats have had their eyes opened over the past 5 years, and now fully understand why our borders were left wide open for four years. The Democrats’ plan has been exposed by President Trump and his administration. The sick plot by the Democrat Party to destroy the United States, in their effort to maintain power, is no longer a secret. They opened our borders to create a new voting bloc of illegal immigrants who will be beholden to the U.S. government. By exploiting illegal immigrants with slave-level wages, corrupt employers deliberately betray American workers—replacing those who demand fair pay with cheaper, easily exploited labor. But slave wages won’t cover the cost of healthcare, so illegal immigrants need Democrats (literally) to stay alive. It’s a sick plan, but it’s not the first time Democrats have preyed on a minority group to keep them in power.
This morning, in an attempt to deflect from the Democrat-led shutdown of the United States government, Senator Schumer posted a headline used by USA Today to mislead the American people about the construction of President Trump’s big beautiful ballroom.
In his X post, the Democrat Senate minority leader told two lies, one was supported by the headline published in the notoriously anti-Trump USA Today, and the other is a lie that’s being told by Democrats to justify the real purpose of their shutdown of the U.S. government.
“Yes to ballrooms. No to healthcare for Americans. Got it.” Shutdown Schumer wrote.

The only problem with his re-post of the (now-deleted) misleading USA Today headline is that it’s easily debunked. Even the Trump-derangement network, CBC News, recently explained how President Trump will fund the $250 million project himself, with some help from private donors.
In July, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the 90,000-square-foot annex would be paid for by private donors and the president himself. Mr. Trump committed to disclosing donors’ names and said he wasn’t looking for contributions from foreign sources.
“I’m paying for it. I’m paying for it,” Mr. Trump said Tuesday, predicting that the ballroom could cost $250 million.
A White House official said nearly $200 million has been pledged so far, and fundraising is ongoing.
So why would USA Today write this headline and then delete it? And why would the dishonest media, like Yahoo News, and People magazine, which shared the same dishonest headline, compare the privately funded construction of the White House ballroom to government workers who may be temporarily laid off due to the Democrat Party’s shutdown?
And why does People Magazine print a blatantly misleading headline and then, in small print below, clarify that the headline is misleading?
Even more importantly, why would the Democrat Party’s leading Senator post this lie on social media?
