President Trump attended the US Open on Sunday and received a warm welcome with plenty of fans to whom he was seen tossing signed MAGA hats and US Open hats.
This may come as a surprise to some, given that the event was in New York City and did not have a particularly Trump-friendly group of fans.
This was Trump’s first appearance at the US Open since 2015. The liberal attendees booed then-candidate Trump heavily at that match.
But Trump was seen at the stadium this time around, signing hats for supporters, and many were seen enthusiastically photographing the President.
This probably angered the liberal Trump-hating Hollywood elites who were in attendance.
Via White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on X:
Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, who described playing in front of President Trump as a “privilege,” beat Jannik Sinner of Italy in the final match.
Later, the President said he “loved” the match, noting that he “didn’t know what to expect” with the “somewhat progressive” or liberal crowd at the event.
“But they were great. The fans were great!” he said after describing them as “really nice.”

The fans were great!
The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that the President arrived at the match this afternoon and received louder cheers than the competing jeers.
The liberal media had speculated that broadcasters were asked not to air crowd reactions to the President’s attendance to hide the booing, but the reaction turned out not to be what they expected. The US Tennis Association said the request to broadcasters was meant to maintain focus on the court. Still, the White House pool feed picked up the crowd reactions.
