Charlie Kirk and Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski Discuss Free Speech and Censorship (VIDEO)

Charlie Kirk speaks with Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski at Student Action Summit on 7/12/25

Charlie Kirk spoke with Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski at the Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida on Saturday about free speech and censorship. Pavlovski explained to Kirk that Rumble has been banned in many places in Europe and also in Brazil.

“Free speech is winning in the last couple of years. Donald Trump ran on free speech, and we voted for free speech in November,” Kirk said.

“Not every country is America. How are you battling for free speech in for example, continental Europe. Are you banned in Europe?” Kirk asked.

“Oh ya. They don’t like us too much,” Pavlovski said.

“What countries are you banned in?” Kirk asked.

“We were first banned in China,” Pavlovski said.

Pavlovski explained that the government of France pressured Rumble to take certain content makers off the site because of their political leanings. Since he refused, the French government banned the site from their country.

“Then the next place to ban us was a place called France. We got a letter from a French minister saying that you need to shut off this creator, this creator and this creator. Not because they violated our policies, but they didn’t like what the creator was saying politically. So, we said no,” Pavlovski continued.

He also explained that Russia did a similar thing to Rumble which also got them banned there too.

“Russia comes to us to ban some creators and we said the same thing, go pound sand, and then Russia bans us in Russia,” Pavlovski continued.

“We are also banned by Brazil, which was a little bit of a longer story,” Pavlovski said.

He also explained that they were suing the government of Brazil for trying to force the company to turn over information of creators that they did not like.

“So, we sued them here in the United States and we got the motion that we wanted out of that and that’s continuing. We filed an injunction,” Pavlovski said.

“It’s really bad out there everywhere in the world right now. There is not a place in the world like United States, and I think that sometimes people forget that what we have here in the United States is not anywhere else in the world at all,” Pavlovski explained.
