Netflix’s beloved To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before spin-off, XO, Kitty, returns to Netflix this week for its second season. Anna Cathcart reprises her role as teenage matchmaker Kitty Song Covey, who’s kicking off a new semester with fresh faces, new crushes, and plenty of drama.

Kitty was first introduced in To All the Boys as Lara Jean’s (Lana Condor) spirited younger sister. In the first season of XO, Kitty, she embarks on an exciting journey to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) for her first semester, joined by her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi) and new friends Yuri (Gia Kim), Q (Anthony Keyvan), and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee).

While her quest to learn about her mother took a backseat to the chaos, Season 2 promises to delve deeper into Kitty’s journey to uncover more about her mom’s past.

Season 1 of XO, Kitty earned more than 72 million hours of viewing within its first week and landed on the Top 10 list in 90 countries, according to Netflix. Here’s everything to know about the upcoming second season.

What Will XO, Kitty Season 2 Be About?

Series showrunner Jessica O’Toole told Tudum that this season “is all about where Kitty is going but also where she came from.” She also teased that fans can expect plenty of “juicy” surprises, including major moments they’ve been eagerly anticipating, along with a few unexpected twists.

“Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey is back in Seoul for a new semester at KISS. She’s single for the first time in a long time, and ready for a fresh start: no more meddling, no more drama. Maybe just some casual dating. Emphasis on casual,” the official synopsis reads.

“But she has more to worry about than her love life, as a letter from her mother’s past sets her on a wild journey, and new faces at KISS bring change. As secrets unravel and bonds are tested, Kitty will learn that life, family and love are more complicated than she ever imagined.”
