An Erie woman is facing felony assault and firearms charges after city police accused her of shooting up a house in an eastside neighborhood Wednesday night.
Rianna S. Price, 34, is accused of firing gunshots into a residence in the 400 block of East 24th Street. The house was struck by four bullets that went through the front of a house and into a wall, a fireplace and a television, police wrote in Price’s criminal complaint. No one was reported injured in the shooting.
Officers who responded to the area after the city’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted them to the shooting found eight 9 mm shell casings outside. Officers learned while searching for a suspect that the suspect might be in the 400 block of East 22nd Street, and when they arrived there they found a man holding down a woman. The man said the woman shot up his house, and he chased her from East 24th Street, officers wrote in the criminal complaint’s affidavit of probable cause.

A motive in the shooting was unknown. But police wrote in the affidavit that they learned from a woman whose house is near the house that was shot up that, earlier in the day, the woman said she was attacked by Price at a club on Erie’s lower east side. The woman said she has ongoing issues with Price, according to information in the affidavit.
Price was arraigned Thursday on felony counts of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, misdemeanor counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct, and a summary count of firearms discharge prohibited by city ordinance. She was placed in the Erie County Prison on $25,000 bond and is tentatively scheduled to appear in court for her preliminary hearing on Jan. 24, according to information in her criminal docket sheet.
A lawyer for Price was not listed on the docket sheet Friday.
