Dorian Gray, Achievement Providence High School

Dorian is a standout freshman here at PHS, both in the classroom and in extracurricular efforts. He is consistently attentive in drama class, thoughtfully analyzes texts, and offers complex perspectives to discussions. His deep engagement with material is matched by his enthusiasm and creativity. He constantly pushes himself to add nuance to his characters and is always curious to learn new vocal and physical acting techniques. Dorian’s academic excellence extends beyond the classroom into his work with the PHS Drama Club. Recently, he earned 2nd Place in the first round of the English Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition and will compete at the state level next month. His performance of Macbeth’s “Is this a dagger which I see before me” monologue demonstrated his skill as an actor and his dedicated work ethic. Dorian is curious, creative, and ready to approach his work with intellect and spirit! This also shows up in his grades, as Dorian is a straight-A student heading into the back end of his freshman year. Dorian is the type of student that teachers look forward to having in class.

He brings that same energy to the classroom, where he actively participates in discussions and consistently works toward his academic goals. Aidan is a respectful and polite individual who has a positive influence on his peers. With impressive grades, a strong work ethic, and a passion for learning, Aidan excels in high-level math and science courses and is thriving in the Electrical and Renewable Energy CTE program at Davies. Levi Knowlton, South Kingstown High School

The South Kingstown High School math department is proud to nominate Levi Knowlton for ProJo Student of the Week. A senior with a remarkable academic track record, Levi excels in both mathematics and computer science, currently demonstrating outstanding achievement in AP Calculus AB. His academic performance is a testament to his dedication and passion for his studies.

Levi’s commitment to academic excellence extends beyond his own studies. Last year, Levi offered after-school peer tutoring several times a week, providing support to students in need of assistance with their math courses. Levi’s ability to remain calm, cool, and collected under pressure makes him not only a great student but also an excellent collaborator and peer.

Outside of class, Levi is a key member of the Math Team, which competes quarterly against other schools. His intellectual curiosity, thoughtfulness, and problem-solving skills, as well as his passion for geometry, make him a standout contributor to the team’s success.
