Andor Season 2 picks up one year after the Ferrix uprising from the Season 1 finale and follows Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, over a four-year journey. The story begins in 4 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), with the finale leading directly into the events of Rogue One.
“In an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue, Cassian Andor will discover the difference he can make in the struggle against the tyrannical Galactic Empire,” the official synopsis reads. “He embarks on a path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”
So far, the season has been broken down into four chapters, each consisting of three episodes. Last week’s episodes included the horrific genocide of Ghorman, while tonight’s trio continues another year later, with Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) now serving as the leader of the Rebellion. Viewers will also finally learn how Cassian became part of the mission to steal the Death Star plans.
While it’s known that characters like Cassian, K-2SO, Mon, Davits Draven, and Ruescott Melshi will appear in Rogue One, what will be the fate of others introduced in the spinoff series, like Bix, Mon’s cousin Vel, Luthen Rael, and his assistant Kleya? Fans will have to tune in tonight and find out.

Will There Be An Andor Season 3?
“Andor” Season 2 on Disney+.
Courtesy of Disney+Unfortunately, no. Although Andor was originally conceived as a five-season series, it was later condensed into two. The ending of Andor Season 2 leads directly into the events of Rogue One, so a third season wouldn’t make sense, especially given Cassian’s fate.
Series star Diego Luna told The Hollywood Reporter that each season takes approximately two and a half years to produce, making it “impossible to keep the rigor, the attention to detail that we have in this show” for five seasons.
“It’s the best that could happen, saying let’s have two seasons, let’s finish in a moment where we’re all loving what we are doing, when we’re in love with not just the material but the process,” the 45-year-old star continued. “It hurts to say goodbye, but it’s better to say goodbye at this moment than when you can’t keep going.”
