Can R-Truth defeat John Cena on Saturday at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, on May 24?

To be frank, probably not. However, the hooks are how he’ll lose—will he be beaten to a pulp by a more ruthless Cena looking to further drive home his newfound harshness, or will someone else intervene to add some spice to the situation?

That’s why I’ll be watching, and that’s one piece of the appeal for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Here is a look at the start time and viewing information:

  • Date: Saturday, May 24
  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • TV/Stream: NBC and Peacock

Here is a look at the short, four-match card and a little bit about each matchup.

World Heavyweight Championship: Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul

Almost no one wants to see Paul dethrone Uso—especially not right now. I love Paul’s work with WWE. In more than forty years of watching professional wrestling, the only other person I can remember watching who has improved and become this good so quickly is Kurt Angle.

Paul gets it on every level. However, it’s still not time for him to win a world title. Uso should go over here, but Paul’s time should be coming soon.

CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker

If I’m being honest, I’m not all that interested in this match on the surface. However, that’s exactly why it might produce the most memorable and entertaining portions of the show.

Will we see a third member of the new Paul Heyman faction? Will Sami Zayn turn on CM Punk? Will anyone—and we mean anyone else—interject themselves into the multi-layered feud?

That’s my only reason for watching this match.

John Cena vs. R-Truth – Non-Title Match

Whenever the GOAT is in action for the rest of this farewell run, it is imperative I watch. I have always appreciated Cena’s brilliance and consistency. For the remainder of the year, heel or face, Cena is must-see TV for anyone who claims to love wrestling.

Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre (Steel Cage Match)

This feud has been solid despite it not involving a title. I thought they could have ended it at WrestleMania following the greatest Street Fight match I’ve ever seen. However, someone believed we needed at least one more chapter added to the story.

I doubted the Street Fight at first, and it turned out great. So for this one, I’m just going to wait to see what happens and deliver my judgment after the match.

Will There Be New Additions to Saturday Night’s Main Event?

SmackDown is tonight from Savannah, Georgia, and while there is a WWE Tag Team Championship match and two Money in the Bank Qualifying matches, I strongly doubt we’ll see anything added to the SNME card.

That said, here is a look at what’s on tap for SmackDown on Friday:

  • The Street Profits vs. Fraxiom – WWE Tag Team Championship Match
  • LA Knight vs. Aleister Black vs. Shinsuke Nakamura – Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match
  • Zelina Vega vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Giulia – Women’s Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match
