Culture met conservative politics on Sunday, when rap megastar Nicki Minaj took the stage at Turning Point USA’s 2025 America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona.
Turning Point USA surprised its 30,000 AmericaFest attendees on Sunday by closing out the event with an appearance by Nicki Minaj, who received a thunderous applause as she walked out on stage with Erika Kirk.
“So, those of you who know, Charlie is very good about having a surprise for every AmFest, and we are so blessed to have you. We are so grateful,” Erika Kirk told the audience after taking the stage with the rap star.
Minaj chimed in, stating, “Thank you, I’m honored to be here,” before reiterating, “I am honored to be here,” adding, “Thank you for having me.”

Recently, Minaj has been more outspoken about political matters, praising President Donald Trump for intervening and taking the matter of the “mass slaughter” of Christians in Nigeria by radical Islamists “seriously,” and blasting California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for saying he wants to “see trans kids.”
A source familiar with the planning logistics of Turning Point USA’s 2025 AmericaFest told Breitbart News that arrangements for Minaj to attend the event transpired after Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10.
Minaj’s decision to speak at Turing Point USA’s event after Kirk’s horrific murder underscores how his assassination has inspired figures outside traditional conservative circles — who might otherwise remain silent — to speak out more boldly about their beliefs, honoring the free speech martyr who lost his life while engaging in open dialogue.
Turning Point USA’s annual end-of-the year conference in Phoenix, Arizona, concluded on Sunday afternoon — the organization’s first AmericaFest since the horrific assassination of its founder.
The event attracted over 30,000 attendees — many of whom are first-time visitors — making this year’s AmericaFest the largest conference in Turning Point USA history.
