The Mount Vernon Fire Department is trying to determine what sparked a trailer fire that killed one person.

It happened Wednesday night around 7:00 p.m. on Mobile Drive.

Someone called 911 to report seeing flames. When crews finished putting them out and looked inside, they found the body of one person.

“Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this tragedy,” the department said in a news release.

The investigation is continuing.
