For a few weeks now, the Jackson 5 have been climbing on the music charts in America. They are one of dozens of musical acts that surge around the holidays, as they have recorded and released some of the most beloved Christmas tunes. As the jolliest day of the year inches closer, the sibling group breaks into the top 10 on a handful of tallies, as both their singles and at least one album are on the rise.

“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” remains the biggest seasonal tune by the Jackson 5, even to this day. The silly single appears inside the top 10 on a pair of Billboard charts, and it almost reaches the competitive space on a third—and it may very well do so in the coming frames.

That smash sits highest on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, the ranking of the bestselling R&B-only tracks in the country. Billboard has classified the Jackson 5’s “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” as R&B, though by today’s standards, it likely would have simply been known as a pop hit. On that style-specific roster, the smash is back at No. 5, its all-time peak.

“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” is also back inside the loftiest tier on the R&B Streaming Songs chart. As it lifts one rung to No. 10, the tune’s performance shows that Americans are so in love with the sassy cut, they’re happy to both stream and purchase it every December.

The same tune nearly succeeds in the same way on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, which is more all-encompassing—and thus, more competitive. “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” returns to the list of the bestselling tracks throughout the U.S. that fit under the genre descriptors of R&B, rap, or hip-hop, and appears at No. 13. It could soar again when Billboard refreshes its rankings on Tuesday (December 24).

As their most popular holiday tune improves its standing, the full-length it’s featured on is also surging. The Jackson 5 Christmas Album finds its way back into the top 10 on the Top R&B Albums chart, where it currently makes a home at No. 7 after landing in eleventh place last time around.

The Jackson 5 may be able to double up inside the top 10 on the R&B Streaming Songs ranking in a day or two, as the troupe claims a pair of spots on the list. As “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” jumps from No. 11 to No. 10, “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” likewise lifts a single space. This frame, it seems to be comfortable at No. 14, after stepping up one space, and it’s tantalizingly close to the uppermost space.
