Andor
Welcome to the rebellion. Andor’s second season is less than a month away, and Disney and Lucasfilm are hoping to draw bigger viewing numbers than the first. The House of Mouse has released a second trailer for the show’s second season, and it’s pretty awesome.
We get little snatches of dialogue, including new Big Bad, Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) saying, “Resistance is absurd.” Krennic was first seen in Rogue One, the prequel to A New Hope which Andor is, itself, a prequel to (somewhat confusingly).
“The Empire cannot win,” Andor (Diego Luna) says, while Bix (Adria Arjona) insists that “If I’m going to give up everything, I wanna win.”
“We must stand together, or we will be crushed,” Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) says. “The monster will come for us all!”
We see the early discovery by the fledgling rebel resistance, of the Death Star. “It’s a weapon!” Kleya Marki (Elizabeth Dulau) says. “They’re building a weapon!”
“If it goes up in flames,” Andor says. “It will burn,” Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) replies. “Very brightly.”

I continue to evangelize this show to anyone who will listen. The first season was the single best bit of Star Wars since Return Of The Jedi, better than any of the Disney-era movies or other Disney Plus shows, and certainly better than the prequel trilogy. Even rewatching Rogue One, you sort of wish that Tony Gilroy and his team had gotten to make that from the beginning, rather than show up to fix it in the end.
Hopefully the second and final season, which should lead right up to the events of Rogue One, will be every bit as good as the first. The first three episodes drop on April 22nd, with three episode “chapters” landing each week after that for four weeks. This is how they ought to have released the show in the first season, and I’m glad to see they’ve changed the release schedule this time around, even though it will make my job of reviewing a bit more challenging.
