Netflix IndiaA total of five Indian films and one web series have made it to the weekly global list of most-watched non-English content on Netflix. Hindi films Emergency, Azaad and Naadaniyan joined Thandel and Vidaamuyarchi on the list of most-watched non-English films globally on Netflix for the week ending March 16. The Hindi web series Dabba Cartel made it to the list of most-watched non-English shows on the platform for the third week in a row.
Emergency Joins Nadaaniyan, Thandel, Vidaamurachi and Azaad on Netflix Global Top 10
Kangana Ranaut’s ambitious political drama Emergency made its debut on Netflix’s weekly list of most-watched content on the platform just days after it landed online. The Tamil film Vidaamuyarchi and the Hindi film Nadaaniyan rank on the list for the second week in a row while Dabba Cartel grabbed a spot for the third consecutive week. The Telugu film Thandel debuted on the list in its second week on the platform.
Nadaaniyan

Netflix IndiaIn its second week on Netflix, Nadaaniyan climbed to the third rank, after making its online debut at the fifth rank last week. The Hindi film recorded 4.3 million views and 8.5 million watch-hours on the platform in the week ending March 16.
Debutante Shauna Gautam has directed Nadaaniyan which premiered on March 7 and debuted on Netflix’s list of most-watched non-English films for the week ending March 9. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan makes his acting debut with the lead role in Nadaaniyan opposite Indian producer Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor in the film.
Thandel

Geetha ArtsChando Mondeti’s Telugu film made it to the sixth spot in its debut week on Netflix. Thandel features Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles and recorded two million views on the platform in a little more than a week. It landed online on March 7. The film registered five million watch hours on Netflix for the week ending March 16.
Initially released in theatres on February 7, the film received mixed reviews. It grossed more than $10 million and now ranks among top-scoring Telugu films of 2025. It also ranks among the highest-scoring Indian films of the year.
Emergency

ZEE StudiosBollywood star Kangana Ranaut wrote and directed the historic biopic on India‘s first woman prime minister, Indira Gandhi. Emergency registered 1.4 million views and 3.4 million watch-hours on Netflix. The film landed online on March 14 and managed to secure those records in just three days of its streaming. Ranaut’s film made it to the seventh spot on Netflix’s list for the week ending March 16.
Kangana Ranaut co-wrote the film with Ritesh Shah (Azaad, Sardar Udham, Dahaad). She also essays the lead role in the film that focuses on late Mrs Gandhi. Ranaut features along side an ensemble cast of Anupam Kher, Shreyas Tapade, Satish Kaushik, Mahima Choudhary, Milind Soman, and Vishak Nair in Emergency. The film released in theatres on January 17. Despite the buzz around it, the movie had a lukewarm run at the box office. It made a mere $600,000 opening and posted a score below $2 million in its first weekend.
Vidaamuyarchi

Lyca ProductionsDirected by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi ranks among most-viewed non-English films on Netflix worldwide for the second consecutive week. The new Tamil film recorded 1.3 million views and 3.2 million watch-hours on Netflix for the week ending March 16. It slid down one rank since last week and made it to the eighth spot on Netflix’s latest weekly list. Vidaamuyarchi stars Ajith, Regina Cassandra and Trisha Krishnan. It premiered online on March 3.
The film is loosely based on Breakdown (1977) and focuses on an estranged couple facing an unexpected scenario that urges them to back each other. They face it despite having fell out in their relationship following a traumatic experience. Vidaamuyarchi released in theatres on February 6 to mixed reviews, though the performances and action sequences were widely appreciated. It now ranks among top-scoring Tamil films of 2025 scoring more than $15 million at the box office.
Azaad

RSVPAbhishek Kapoor’s Hindi film landed on Netflix on March 14 and Azaad now ranks among top ten most-watched non-English films on the platform. It recorded 1.1 million views and 2.4 million watch hours on Netflix for the week ending March 16.
The film features Amaan Devgn, Rasha Thadani and Ajay Devgn in lead roles. The film marks the acting debut of Ajay Devgn’s nephew Amaan Devgn and Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani. It also stars Diana Penty. The film is set in the 1920s British India and released in Jnauary 2025. It was widely panned a lack of emotional depth in a romantic drama that aims at churning out the emotions of patriotism alongwith romance. The film had a dismal run at the box office, collecting a little more than a million dollars.
Dabba Cartel

Netflix IndiaShow creator Shibani Dandekar Akhtar’s India original Dabba Cartel is the only Indian web series to rank among most-watched non-English shows on Netflix for the week ending March 16. This is the show’s third week in a row on the list. With 1.3 million views and 7.3 million watch-hours, Dabba Cartel ranks at the ninth spot.
Dabba Cartel is directed by Hitesh Bhatia. It features Jyotika, Shabana Azmi, Shalini Pandey and Nimisha Sajayan in lead roles.
