Sen. Joni Ernst and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, both Republicans, are calling on President Donald Trump to end funding for animal testing in Chinese labs.
A new investigation from White Coat Waste has revealed that 300 beagles per week are being force-fed and injected with drugs in wasteful tests in China funded with American tax dollars.
The shocking investigation was released shortly after the CIA admitted that COVID-19 likely originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
In documents obtained by WCW, the Chinese lab admitted to using beagles for the tests because they are “cute” and “docile.”
Documents from the Chinese lab, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, state: “Beagle dog is docile, cute, and easy to domesticate, so it has been the best choice.”
WCW reports:
Records show that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DOD) have recently extended a contract for abusive and wasteful drug tests on 300 beagles weekly until the end of May 2025. NIH is paying $124,000 and the DOD is kicking in an unspecified amount of taxpayers’ money.
The documents detail show puppies as young as 8 months old will be forced to endure traumatic procedures like repeatedly having tubes shoved down their throats to force-feed them experimental drugs and be restrained for hours on end.
These wasteful tax-funded puppy tests are allegedly being conducted to fulfill regulatory requirements even though the Food and Drug Administration has stated clearly that it, “does not mandate that human drugs be studied in dogs.”
Currently, 26 animal labs in China are approved to receive taxpayer money — some of which are controlled by the Chinese Communist Party and linked to the Chinese military.

Last month, The Gateway Pundit reported:
Records analyzed by WCW show that a Vanderbilt University researcher who has received over $20 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation has been collaborating on cruel monkey tests with various Iranian institutions, including Iran’s Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences and the Iran University of Science and Technology.
The U.S. taxpayer-funded primate tests are also being conducted in conjunction with China’s government-run Sun Yat Sen University.
In these studies, monkeys had holes drilled into their skulls, electrodes inserted into their brains, and were forced into restraints to watch computer screens for extended periods.
Not only are these collaborations cruel, but they may also directly violate U.S. sanctions against Iran, which strictly prohibit such scientific exchanges, and sanctions against China’s Sun Yat-Sen University, which the Department of Defense and Commerce flags as a threat to national security.
DOGE Senate Caucus Chairwoman Joni Ernst called for an end to the funding in a statement provided to The Gateway Pundit.
“Since discovering that Fauci was funding shady experiments in Wuhan, I have demanded transparency and worked tirelessly to uncover the truth and end the pseudoscience. Especially following the CIA’s determination that COVID came from a lab in Wuhan, we must clip the wings on the batty studies of pandemic potential. Tax dollars should not be funding gain-of-function research or any dangerous, cruel, and wasteful studies anywhere, but especially in China, Russia, or other foreign adversaries.”
Likewise, Congresswoman Malliotakis said, “It’s alarming that American tax dollars are still funding cruel dog testing and other animal labs in Communist China after our Select Subcommittee exposed dangerous experiments being conducted in places like the Wuhan Lab and cut that funding off. I’m urging President Trump to stop the NIH and other agencies from sending our money to foreign labs that threaten our national security, public health, and animal welfare.”
Justin Goodman, Senior vice president of WCW added, “After the Fauci-funded disaster we exposed in Wuhan and the CCP’s cover-up, no animal lab in China should ever get another red cent of taxpayers’ money. Yet, our shocking new investigation exposes how the NIH and the Pentagon are currently paying a Chinese lab to force-feed and inject 300 puppies a week with experimental drugs, and that they ghoulishly chose to abuse beagles because they’re “docile” and “cute”—the same qualities that make them loving pets. In 2020, President Trump famously cut Fauci’s grant to the Wuhan animal lab days after we exposed it. We’re urging the President to pick up where he left off and defund all of China’s animal labs once and for all. The solution is simple: Stop the money. Stop the madness!”
In 2021, Gateway Pundit was the first outlet to cover WCW’s investigation exposing Fauci’s beagle torture.
WCW also first exposed Fauci’s funding for the Wuhan Institute of Virology and has worked with Senator Rand Paul to highlight other wasteful government animal testing.
WCW recently released a cost-savings plan for the new Trump Administration that includes defunding animal testing labs in China, cutting funding for dog and cat tests, and more.
President Trump’s longtime adviser, Roger Stone, endorsed the plan and said, “We must stop this madness.”
