The wintry weather is causing some closures and cancelations around the Alexandria and Pineville area.
The following list will be updated as more information becomes available. Remember that there is a warming station for able-bodied people who need it in Alexandria at 315 Bolton Ave. No pets or special medical needs can be accommodated.

Closures and cancelations:

Rapides Parish public schools are closed on Tuesday.

A special Rapides Parish School Board meeting and committee meetings have been moved to Jan. 23, starting at 4:59 p.m.

All state offices are closed on Tuesday.

Louisiana State University of Alexandria campus will be closed on Tuesday. Online classes will be held. Dorms will be open, as will dining halls but students should check for the hours.

Pineville City Council committee meetings have been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

Louisiana Christian University will be closed on Tuesday. Faculty and students should follow the Continuity of Operations Plan in each course syllabus to continue online classes through Canvas assignments. Hattie B’s will be open for brunch and dinner on Tuesday.

The Alexandria campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College will be closed on Tuesday.
