Rosé is quickly becoming one of the most important K-pop soloists in history. Week after week, the Blackpink singer reaches new heights on the American charts, or ties records set by her fellow K-pop stars. Much of this success can be attributed to her breakout solo single, “Apt.” Her collaboration with Bruno Mars launched as a smash months ago, and has remained one ever since.

This week, the song earns yet another accolade, helping Rosé inch closer to a milestone no one from her part of the world has achieved before.

Rosé Scores a New Radio Peak

“Apt.” is still a massive radio hit in the U.S., and there’s no real indication that its popularity is fading. In fact, quite the opposite is true.

The Rosé/Mars duet steps up to No. 5 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart this frame. That’s a gain of just one spot from last time around, but it’s enough to give the single a new all-time best placement on the ranking. After months of climbing, it now stands as the highest-charting win by any K-pop artist on the list, and it may not be done moving.

“Apt.” Ties the BTS’s All-Time Record

This frame, “Apt.” also ties a historic record on the same list. The track has now spent 20 weeks on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. That puts it in a four-way tie with some very notable K-pop successes as the longest-running smash ever.

“Apt.” joins BTS’s “Dynamite,” Fifty Fifty’s “Cupid,” and “My Universe,” a collaboration between Coldplay and BTS, as the longest-running songs by K-pop acts on the Adult Pop Airplay list. All four tracks have now managed 20 turns on the roster.

Rosé Is Poised to Break Her Tie

This tie probably isn’t going to last very long. Since “Apt.” is still safely inside the top 10 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart — and, in fact, just hit a new peak — there’s little chance it will fall off the list in the immediate future. Rosé is almost guaranteed to break the record within a matter of days.

Once the charts are published again in a few days, “Apt.” will likely become the first song by a K-pop act to reach 21 weeks on the Adult Pop Airplay tally.

Rosé Marks Another Chart First

“Apt,” already claimed the honor of being the highest-rising hit by a K-pop artist in the history of the Adult Pop Airplay ranking, and this week, it extends that lead. Not long ago, the song passed “My Universe,” which stalled at No. 8. Now that it’s reached No. 5, it’s the first top five smash by any K-pop musical act on this radio roster.
