Houthis: the proxy group for the Iranians was pressured into a truce with the US.

While the world’s MSM takes delight in dismissing the peace efforts by the US Donald J. Trump administration, the relentless work is paying very real dividends.

This is the case of the recent truce between the US and the Yemeni Houthis, which is bound to bring safety to some of the world’s most vital sea trade routes.

A report arose today saying that Iran pressured the Houthi rebel group into reaching a truce with the US on the conflict in the Red Sea.

The reported move by Tehran was made to help negotiations with Trump’s team for a nuclear program agreement.

The Times of Israel reported:

“US President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening announced an end to hostilities with the Houthis, catching Israeli officials by surprise. The announcement did not mention the ongoing Houthi missile and drone attacks on Israel, and officials for the Yemeni rebel group pledged that such strikes would continue.”

Major news from President @realDonaldTrump⬇️

“The Houthis have announced that— they don’t want to fight anymore. They just don’t want to fight, and we will honor that, and we will stop the bombings. They have capitulated…They say they will not be blowing up ships anymore.” pic.twitter.com/Sk2F5caqHz

“The Houthis have announced that— they don’t want to fight anymore. They just don’t want to fight, and we will honor that, and we will stop the bombings. They have capitulated…We will take their word. They say they will not be blowing up ships anymore. And that’s the purpose of what we are doing.”

“Two Iranian officials, one from the foreign ministry and the other from the Revolutionary Guards, said that Iran had persuaded the Houthis to stop their attacks on US assets as part of the Omani mediation efforts, The New York Times reported.”

According to CNN, special envoy Steve Witkoff worked with the diplomats and officials from Oman to broker this US-Houthi ceasefire. This is expected to help with the Iran nuclear talks.

“There have been three rounds of nuclear talks already, though a date for the fourth has not yet been set, though it is likely to take place this weekend.”

Donald Trump praises Houthis’ “bravery”

“You know, we hit them very hard. They had a great capacity to withstand punishment. They took tremendous punishment. You can say there’s a lot of bravery there…It was amazing what they took. But we honor their commitment and their word.” pic.twitter.com/XS1ChpFKd7

Per the truce, neither side will attack the other, including US vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

“According to CNN, negotiations between the US and the Houthis were stimulated by remarks from US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who last week posted to X that Iran ‘will pay the CONSEQUENCE at the time and place of our choosing” if it continues ´lethal support to the Houthis´’.”
