STOUGHTON — A 20-year-old Randolph woman and a 19-year-old Brockton woman are accused of attacking an off-duty Stoughton Police sergeant Sunday after the officer confronted the 20-year-old for side-swiping his vehicle and leaving the scene, Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara said in a press release.
The confrontation occurred after the 20-year-old allegedly side-swiped the off-duty police sergeant’s car on Pine Street Sunday afternoon and left the scene, police said.
The off-duty officer said he followed the 20-year-old driver and her 19-year-old passenger to a parking lot, where he identified himself multiple times as an off-duty officer, according to the written statement from police.

Police said the 20-year-old woman became belligerent and hit the off-duty officer in the upper body, neck and face area. After the officer tried to restrain her, the 19-year-old passenger attacked the off-duty officer and a woman he was traveling with, according to police.
When officers arrived on the scene, they said they witnessed the 20-year-old driver also hitting the woman who was with the off-duty officer.
The 20-year-old Randolph woman was arrested on the scene and charged with assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to police.
According to court documents, she pleaded not guilty Monday to all charges in Stoughton District Court at her arraignment and was released.
The 19-year-old Brockton woman will be issued a summons to appear in Stoughton District Court on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery and resisting arrest, according to police.
