One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a fire tore through a home in Deering, NH.

According to the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal around 9:19 p.m. on Saturday, Deering Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a fire with multiple people trapped at a single-family home on Hart Farm Road in Deering.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire coming from the home. One person was found dead inside the home. An adult male who was initially trapped on the second floor when the fire started, was assisted out of the home by a neighbor and transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

He was later transferred to a Boston area hospital.

The fire was under control around 11:46 p.m.

The deceased victim will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office and Deering Fire & Rescue.
