Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts surges on five Billboard charts, reentering the Top Album Sales and Vinyl … [+]
It’s rare that both of Olivia Rodrigo’s albums don’t appear on the Billboard charts together this frame. Usually, listeners in the U.S. keep her only two solo full-lengths on the lists, as the singer-songwriter’s work is unusually popular, even though she hasn’t released anything new for quite some time.
She just barely manages to repeat that showing this period, as both Guts and Sour land on the rosters with her.
Rodrigo’s debut full-length only settles on a single chart this time around. While Sour may be on the decline on the Billboard 200 — the only roster where it finds a home — Guts is growing. Rodrigo’s sophomore project, which is now a year and a half old, is improving its stance significantly, and it even manages to re-enter several rosters, thanks to an increase in purchases.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts is Still a Major Win
This week, Guts appears on five Billboard charts. It re-establishes itself on two of them thanks to fans continuing to purchase the project in large numbers, even after it has already sold so well for so long. Luminate reports that in the past tracking frame, Guts sold nearly 4,900 copies. That’s up 167% from the period before, when it didn’t even manage to find a home on the Top Album Sales list.
Guts Returns to Multiple Charts
This frame, Guts reenters both the Vinyl Albums and Top Album Sales charts. It’s back at No. 5 on the wax-only tally, and it nearly reenters the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart but instead settles at No. 12.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Second Album Remains a Top 10 Favorite
Rodrigo’s second blockbuster effort also manages to appear inside the highest reaches of two genre-specific rosters. Guts pushes to No. 3 on the Top Alternative Albums chart and No. 4 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts on the Billboard 200
Looking at the Billboard 200, which focuses on total consumption and not just sales, Guts is also climbing. Rodrigo sends her most recent full-length from No. 53 to No. 35, thanks to a 17% increase in total consumption of the project.
Sour Falls on Billboard’s Albums Chart
The Billboard 200 is the only chart where Rodrigo occupies more than one spot. As Guts jumps back into the top 40, Sour declines from No. 46 to No. 53, as it approaches 200 weeks on the highly competitive tally.
