Topline
Resale tickets for Monday’s College Football Playoffs Championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame are proving to be a hot commodity, with most third-party sites having a get-in price around $1,800, and data from SeatGeek showing this year’s tickets are currently higher than tickets to recent championships.
Key Facts
Data provided to Forbes by ticket resale platform SeatGeek showed the average resale ticket price, with fees, to attend Monday’s game was $3,327, marking a 37% increase from 2024’s championship between Michigan and Washington.
Ohio State and Notre Dame will face off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. EST on Monday.
While resale ticket price averages will likely change before Monday, as of Thursday this year was trending higher than the three recent championship games, which saw an average resale ticket on SeatGeek go for $2,424 in 2024, $1,549 in 2023 and $1,226 in 2022.
The get-in price on SeatGeek as of Thursday was $1,817 with fees, similar to the $1,809 get-in price on StubHub and $1,789 get-in price on GameTime.
SeatGeek’s director of growth marketing Chris Leyden told Forbes this season’s game is “shaping up to be the most sought-after in SeatGeek history,” likely because “two of the most passionate and dedicated fan bases in college football…are showing up in full force, fueling demand.”
StubHub told Forbes on Wednesday that sales for Monday’s game were tracking 85% higher than last year at the same time, and they had already surpassed final sales of all championship games on the platform from 2019 to 2023.
To be expected, the average price of more than $3,000 to attend the championship on SeatGeek is far higher than either team’s average ticket price throughout the season: The average resale ticket price to attend an away Notre Dame game was $281, and the same for Ohio State was $304.
